Friday December 23rd, 2005 8am Breakfast. Norwegian Consul General & Ian Tait from LegaciesNow 2010. Must call 485-0325 to reserve a seat. This event is $12. Town Centre Hotel.

Thursday November 24th 2005 Luncheon & Presentation. Topic is "using the internet as a business tool" with guests from Shaw Communications. Noon at the Marine Inn banquet room downstairs.

Thursday November 17th 2005. Luncheon & Presentation, guest is John Weston; author, motivational speaker, lawyer and business man. Noon at the Town Centre Hotel.

Saturday October 29th, 10th annual Horizon Business Awards Gala event.      Dwight Hall doors open at 6pm, dinner at 7pm. This event highlights businesses who have been nominated by local customers, for their outstanding service and products.

Wednesday October 5th, 2nd annual Newcomers Social, 7 to 9pm. Upper Complex. Booths displaying all there is to do in the area, get info on non profit groups, service clubs and businesses who seek new members, customers, clients and volunteers. Come and meet the Mayor and other local dignitaries. No fee to attend, free refreshments.

Thursday May 26th 2005, noon, Marine Inn, Positive Community Happenings Topics: United Way payroll deductions, Marine Area Business Association, Relay for Life, Wheels in Motion, Lund Historical Society, Hire a Student program and Seafair update.

Thursday May 12th, 2005, 7pm, Evergreen TheatreProvincial All Candidates Forum.   Make an informed vote when you go to the polls on May 17th, 2005.

Sunday, April 10th, 2005, noon to 4pm, Town Centre Hotel.   Women on the Go show. The tradeshow for Women by Women. Booth space limited, $75 per space, Free admission to the public,donations to the Food Bank gladly accepted.

Saturday February 26th 2005 noon, Town Centre HotelSpecial guests; Joe Volpe Minister of Immigration & Citizenship and MP Don Bell, North Vancouver.

Thursday February 17th, noon, Town Center Hotel   Community happenings, topics and presentations.

Thursday January 27th, 2005, noon Marine Inn Banquet room.   AGM with Elections and Community Presentations. Come and hear local people talk about local issues and happenings. MUST RSVPThursday 

December 10th, 2004 Noon, Marine Inn Banquet room.BC Ferries Rob Clarke, Vice President Chief Financial Officer will give us the financial side of the corporation.

Friday November 19th, 2004. Noon, TC Hotel. PIPA workshopDana Chamberlain from the Ministry of Management Services will give her expertise regarding the Personal Information and Protection Act. Handouts will be given out. Full hour workshop with lunch.

 Saturday November 13th, 2004. doors open 6pm.  HORIZON BUSINESS AWARDS & Dinner event. Co sponsored with Community Futures and Peak Publishing. This annual event showcases the top businesses in the community. Watch for ballots so you can nominate your favorite business. Tickets available at the Chamber office.

Wednesday November 10th, noon. TC Hotel.  Community Happenings.  Listen to a waterfront update from the manager of waterfront development Al Baronas, then learn about the new brand marketing initiative with PRREDS Scott Randolph and listen to the Futurevest group talk about their plans for the old Safeway mall, now called the Crossroads.

Friday Oct 22nd, 2004 8am  Customer Service Retail Workshop Breakfast. Marine Hotel 8am

Wednesday October 13th, 2004. 7 to 9pm.  NEWCOMERS SOCIAL, Upper Complex-theatre areaAre You New to Town? Then this is the event for you. Come and meet the Mayor, the Chamber President and other new residents. Information booths from local service clubs and organizations will be set up and there will be complimentary refreshments. Come and find out who's who.

Monday July 5th 2004, approximately 3pm.  The Chamber will be hosting the Navy sailing ship HMCS Oriole. Celebrating its 50th year on the Coast they will offer public tours while docked overnight at the Wharf.  20 Powell Riverites will be invited to take a complimentary day sail to Campbell River the next morning. Passengers will have to find their own transportation back to Powell River. To reserve your spot please call the chamber office.

 CANADA DAY Thursday July 1st 2004 Willingdon Beach, 4pm to 9pm.  We will be sponsoring the Canada Day Festivities. Come and join the fun and celebrate our countries 137th Birthday.

Friday June 18th 2004 7pm Brooks School.  Federal All Candidates debate meeting.                                             

April 18th 2004, Sunday, noon to 4pm. Town Center Hotel.  Tradeshow For Women on the Go.

April 8th 2004, Thursday, Noon, Town Center Hotel, Must RSVP.  Guest Speaker: BC Attorney General/Minister of Treaty Negotiations Geoff Plant.

March 25th 2004, Thursday, Noon, Town Center Hotel, Must RSVP.  Guest speaker: Rob Clarke, Vice President BC Ferries/Chief Financial Officer.

March 24th 2004, Wednesday, Noon, Inn at Westview . Must RSVP  Guest speaker: MP John Reynolds with an update from Ottawa.

January 29th 2004, Thursday, noon, Inn at Westview.   Annual General Meeting, Luncheon and Elections. Invited Guest speakers will be our elected officials; MP John Reynolds, MLA Harold Long, Regional Chair Colin Palmer, Mayor Stewart Alsgard and Chief Maynard Harry.  Each guest will be given 5 minutes to give us a quick overview of their goals for 2004.  Must RSVP. If you are interested in joining the board of directors and need more information, contact the office.
